Trading Costs: Commission, Spread and Swap
Three costs can apply when you trade on GreatBless: a commission on each side of the trade, the spread between the buy and sell price, and a swap (overnight financing fee) if you keep a position open past the daily rollover. This article explains each one.
Commission
A commission is charged on each side of a trade: once when the position is opened and once when it is closed. It is deducted from your account balance at the moment the order is executed, and you can see it under Commission in the History tab at the bottom of WebTrade.
| Instruments | Per side | Both sides (open and close) |
|---|---|---|
| Forex pairs | 2.30 USD per lot | 4.60 USD per lot |
| Metals (gold, silver, platinum, palladium, copper, aluminium) | 0.0013% of the trade value | 0.0026% |
| Indices, energies and commodities | 0.00225% of the trade value | 0.0045% |
| Stock CFDs | 0.05% of the trade value | 0.10% |
| Crypto CFDs | 0.058% of the trade value | 0.116% |
🔹 Percentage commissions are calculated on the value at each side. The closing side uses the value at the closing price, so the total for both sides changes slightly if the price has moved.
🔹 Clients introduced by a partner (IB) pay the same commission as everyone else. Partners are paid by the Company out of its own revenue.
Examples
- EURUSD, 1 lot: 2.30 USD when opened and 2.30 USD when closed, 4.60 USD in total.
- Gold, 1 lot (100 troy ounces) at 4,300 USD: the trade is worth 430,000 USD, so the commission is about 5.59 USD per side, about 11.18 USD for both sides.
- BTCUSD, 0.1 lot at 80,000 USD: the trade is worth 8,000 USD, so the commission is 4.64 USD per side, about 9.28 USD for both sides.
- A stock CFD, 100 shares at 200 USD: the trade is worth 20,000 USD, so the commission is 10.00 USD per side, about 20.00 USD for both sides.
Spread
We do not add a markup to the spread. You trade on the raw prices we receive from our liquidity providers, so the spread is variable: it is usually tight in liquid market hours and can widen around news releases, at the market open, at the daily rollover and when liquidity is thin.
You can see the live spread of every instrument in the Spread column of the symbol list in WebTrade.
Swap (overnight financing)
A swap is applied to a position that is still open at 00:00 MT5 server time, the daily rollover. A position opened and closed before the rollover has no swap.
| Instruments | When swap is applied |
|---|---|
| Forex pairs and metals | Monday to Friday nights, with three days' swap on Wednesday night to cover the weekend. No swap on Saturday or Sunday. |
| Indices, energies, commodities, stock CFDs and crypto CFDs | Every calendar day, including Saturday and Sunday. No triple-swap day. |
The swap rate depends on the instrument and on whether your position is a buy or a sell, and it changes in line with market financing rates.
Where to see the current swap rate: in the Place Order panel, click the instrument name with the ⓘ icon (next to the order type) to open its contract specifications. The Overview tab shows Swap long (for buy positions) and Swap short (for sell positions).
Deposits and withdrawals
GreatBless does not charge a fee for deposits or withdrawals. For crypto withdrawals, the payment gateway deducts a blockchain network fee from the amount sent. See How to Withdraw Funds from Your Wallet.
Fees can change
The Company may change its fees; changes take effect when they are published on the platform or website (Client Agreement V7, section 12.3).
